What is Metal Stamping
Metal Stamping is also called as metal pressing. It is a process of placing a sheet metal into metal press, with the help of mould/die to shape the metal. It consists of various stages, including bending, flanging, embossing, blanking, coining, drawing, ironing, cutting, piercing, and more.
Progressive stamping is carried out in VIM, as it can shape the sheet metals along the production line. It highly improves the efficiency, and hence lower the cost.
The Advantages of Metal Stamping
Highly efficient as they are automated process by advanced machine. Blank or coil flat sheet metal are continuously sent to mould/die by feeder. Then the metal press die the material at a predetermined feed length.
Stroke per minute could reach ~60 per minute.
Precise with tight tolerances. Metal stamping tolerance and dimension are determined by the mould/die. Once mould/die is made, products will not go wrong. This ensures the quality stability.
