Small batch prototype processing includes CNC machining and silicone compound molding. CNC machining can be used for plastic or metal. Silicone mold is a kind of plastic hand processing method. It is suitable for small batch soft rubber and hand board of ABS, nylon and other materials. The silicone compound mold has a short cycle and low cost, but its production precision is only about plus or minus 0.2mm. If the accuracy of the model is very strict, try not to choose this method. Cnc processing: It is a commonly used prototype processing method. The precision of processing is higher than other processing methods. The processed materials are relatively wide. Plastic and metal materials can be processed. It is recommended to use cnc processing for high precision. The main advantages of small batch prototype are low cost and short production cycle. For example, CNC processing to do a prototype that requires hundreds of dollars, using silicone compound mold to do, you only need tens of dollars, dozens of hands can be done in three or four days. Effectively reduce the time and cost of designing and developing new products. Small batch hand model processing technology: 1: The original version needs to be made before the start of the production of the complex mold. The original version is usually done by cnc processing or 3D printing. After the original version is completed, the manual part can be polished, and then the mold master can mold the production. The materials of the silicone mold are: ABS, PP, PC, POM, PA, soft rubber and so on. 2: Silicone compound mold: mainly used for small batch hand board, short cycle, low cost, but the performance and precision of hand board is not good for cnc processing. Under normal circumstances, the service life of silicone mold is about 10-20 times. The probability of doing a small batch of complex model is relatively small, as long as the prototype has no problem, the product of the complex model will not have any problem. However, the shortcoming of the small batchprototype is that the finished product will be affected by the thermal expansion and contraction, which will cause the size to shrink. These factors should be taken into consideration, otherwise the hand plate will be unqualified. The processing of small-volume prototype is not comparable to the CNC prototype processing, so the processing in the above two ways is different.
